No commissions, no pressure—just one photographer-turned-friend helping you feel confident in front of the lens.
If you’ve ever stood in front of your closet the night before a session whispering, “I have nothing to wear,” this post is for you.
Here’s what I tell every couple, family, or new parent I work with:
Your outfit shouldn’t hide you. It should free you to show up as yourself. Clothes should not be a fight for a photo session.
I’ve linked a few of my favorite outfit combos below, but before you even scroll, hear this: you don’t have to look like a Pinterest ad to be beautiful. These ideas aren’t about perfection—they’re about helping you feel like the best version of your real self.

A Few Outfit Combos I’d Say “YES!” To
Note: None of these are affiliate links. I don’t earn a cent if you buy. I’m just here to be your style wingwoman.
1. Neutrals with Movement (Great for Couples)
- Flowy dress in a soft neutral (like this smocked top dress from Pink Blush)
- Partner in “nice jeans” ( no rips!) or chinos + a henley (like this from Kohls)
Why it works: Natural textures and soft colors let your faces and connection be the focus. Bonus: movement adds so much magic.
2. Soft Layers + Casual Cozy (Perfect for Families with Littles)
- Mom in a layered midi dress like this one + simple earrings
- Dad in a knit sweater, quarter zip + jeans
- Kids in easy neutrals (think H&M basics for girls) (boys an easy neutral polo and shorts or pants)
Why it works: These pieces are forgiving, camera-friendly, and comfy enough for tickles, twirls, or toddler meltdowns.
3. Elevated Everyday (Timeless + True to You)
- Your favorite jeans + a classic top
- A jacket you already own (denim or leather)
- Neutral booties, flats or white sneakers
Why it works: If you’d wear this to coffee with your best friend, it’s a good sign. Confidence shows when you’re not wearing a costume.
A Few “Friend to Friend” Tips:
- Don’t match—coordinate. Think about what colors or tones live in the same family (earthy, muted, cool, soft).
- Try it on in natural light! Snap a selfie by a window to make sure the tones look good on your skin.
- Dress for the location (and for movement!). If we’re in a grassy field or on the beach, think layers, not high heels.
- When in doubt: simple, soft, and true to you is always better than trendy and stiff.

Final Word: You’re Not “Too Late” to Look and Feel Amazing
Whether you’re weeks out or texting me the night before—we can figure this out. And if you want to text me a pic and ask “does this work?”—I’m here for it.
You don’t need a stylist. You need a friend who can help you see what’s already working.
🩵 Cheering for you,
Brielle
