Kate & Ned have been dating since high school, and this past Saturday their wedding at Mineral Springs Resort & Spa was 11 years in the making…and it was PERFECT! If you ask Ned he planned the whole thing, it was so nice of Kate to let him think that, but I know she put in a ton of work making every detail special! You could not have dreamed up better weather for mid-August in NJ. The relatively cool 80 degree temperature with low humidity and blue skies was the best backdrop for Ned & Kate’s tented wedding on the lawn at Mineral Springs.
When I arrived Kate and her bridesmaids were already well on their way to getting ready, karaoke machine and all! As part of the tradition, her something old was a chain linked bracelet with a silver heart that was the first piece of jewelry Ned gave her! It was from Schroth’s jewelers, the same place their wedding rings were from! Kate’s Essence of Australia dress was a stunner too. Its lightweight material was perfect for a summer wedding. It was beautiful!
Ned wore a custom designed suit from Enzo Customs in New York City, and it was awesome! On top of choosing the liner, and having his name embroidered on the inside he had a hidden message inside the collar: “I’m a 10.”
They chose to have a first look and got all their formal photographs done before the ceremony in the wedding garden. It was so fun to find out just how many rooms that overlooked our portrait spot were filled with guests spending the night, even throwing them down drinks from the balcony, and cheering them on through portrait time!!
Once the ceremony was over, it was time to pop open an oversized champagne bottle. Kate then took time for a quick photo opportunity with kids from her kindergarten class who showed up to watch her get married and share in lemonade and cookies! It was so sweet to see how excited they were!
During cocktail hour, guests were serenaded by The Two Ukes, and Kate even shared in an impromptu dance with her grandfather to the music! Guests were then escorted across the lawn into the reception where after introductions and formal toasts the guests ROCKED the dance floor and enjoyed two fire pits on the lawn! Kate & Ned not only tore it up on the dance floor, but Kate took every opportunity to get on the microphone (real or fake) too!
Congratulations again Ned & Kate! I am so honored to have been there to witness this celebration and photograph all the amazing details of your day! Wishing you both SO many happy memories ahead!
A huge thanks to all the vendors who took part in their day, including my second shooter Ashley!
