Our newborn sessions are meant to capture all the tiny details during those blurry first weeks at home with your newest love!
You are starting the stories now of the "good ole' days" and I love creating photos to remind families that despite the fact that parents are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story holds the magic glue keeping it all going!

I believe that every BKP family deserves beautiful timeless portraits of that special time when a new baby is entering into the world! I offer different types of sessions to help accomplish this:
-Maternity Session
-Lifestyle Newborn Session
Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home putting the needs and safety of baby first in regards to posing, and breaks to cater to the baby's needs. A Lifestyle session includes the family in your own environment with no backdrops or props and includes any siblings (fur or human).

My style is very natural to keep the main focus on baby. My best advice? Keep it simple and comfortable for you and baby! If you would like to add in 1 or 2 heirlooms this is the time to plan it!

For any type of session I have a prep guide for what to do before your session. Forget cleaning the whole house before I arrive! I know all too well how toys find themselves back to the floor faster than you blink!
For posed sessions I need a few feet of space in a living room or nursery to setup the backdrop, and bean bag on the floor. For lifestyle sessions you only need areas that will be photographed clean (aka. just one side of the room or nursery will do!)

This is where you relax and enjoy your family! Let me guide you through posing from start to finish. Whether it is a maternity session enjoying those last weeks of pregnancy or a session filled with newborn snuggles and laughs, you've done the hard work, it's your time to relax and work my photographer magic!
Day Of your session

About 4 weeks after your session (may or may not be filled with long nights, and a few overloads of coffee) and you'll wake up to gallery delivery day! It's my favorite day!!
Enjoy opening your gallery sharing with friends and family and downloading your high resolution photographs to a few locations for long term storage. You can select to purchase prints from my professional lab, order albums or print on your own later with your personal print release.

FAQ
Nope! Neutral soft colors like pastels or white, are best for letting the focus stay on baby and creating a high end timeless look, but pops of color can create a beautiful look as well. My suggestion? Go with a style that fits your home decor. I travel to your house at the time of the session and bring neutral swaddles but of course if you have a favorite onesie, pajama set, or family heirloom or you would like to include it is up to your discretion to provide, all ideas are welcome!
Do I need to buy props?
The sooner the better! The sooner you reach out to us, usually in the 2nd or 3rd trimester is great! Most newborn sessions are photographed within the first 7-14 days new on weekday mornings.
To reserve your date, we'll need a signed contract as well as a deposit within 24 hours to hold your spot. With due dates so unexpected we book based on availability nearest your due date.
How far in advance should we book?
If picking out outfits for photos gives you flashbacks trying on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
Upon booking you'll be sent a link to a newborn prep guide to help in choosing outfits! If you need more help, I'm here to answer any questions!
What should we wear?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, I take photos for a living and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when we're in front of the camera. We're in this together and I promise I will make it as bearable and fast as possible and teach you all the tricks along the way to make you look GREAT!
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on and I coach you through images, I think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
We feel awkward & our kids don't sit still.
Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.
The gallery is also set up to make ordering prints, canvases and other keepsakes as easy as turning on a Roomba to clean your floors. No worrying about tricky things like color correction, DPI and image format.
